Showing up for the seen and unseen, as a former middle school 8th grade ELA teacher, like all passionate teachers, I was dedicated to the academic advancement of my kids, intentional commitment to my parents, and thoroughly enjoyed my time of impact in the classroom. However, the sudden passing of my youngest brother initiated a transition out of the classroom beyond my control. In my time away, one thing was clear, although I was distant from the professional teaching space, the love of coming alongside, challenging and guiding my students, was not absent from me. The specific ways I could continue pushing students forward and significantly contributing to their lives became clear.
It was clear that I needed to leverage the experience, expertise, skills, and impact, not only developed in the professional teaching space, but also in my background of corporate, travel, service, and leadership, to provide personalized experiences tailored to meet individual needs. My robust perspectives and varied experiences work to serve to resonate with students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, particularly, leading girls and young women to feel seen, valued, and understood, ultimately enhancing engagement and participation, critical thinking, broad understandings, and increased capacity to make a difference in the world around them.
Students today both directly and indirectly command that their learning environment foster deeper understandings that are age-appropriate, and are balanced with academic intentionality. Tutoring and Mentoring are essential supplements to the classroom and the paradigm shifts that allow for greater flexibility in life opportunities. This shift additionally allows for a wider supportive environment where the student feels comfortable asking questions, and exploring topics and subjects at their own pace. It is my endeavor in this space to maximize and inspire awareness of potential, one's own capacity, that cultivates a path towards positive expectations, experiences, and influence for their future.
Through structured sessions, one-on-one support, and impactful workshops, girls and young women discover their God-given capacity by understanding their value, which defines the vision of their future.
Mentoring and Tutoring are essential paradigm shifts that can unlock a girl and a young woman's God-given capacity to cultivate confidence and inspire lifelong learning. Talia envision's a future where every girl and young woman has the opportunity to pursue her God-given dreams to make an indelible impact locally and globally.
